Short Description
The Patient Care Technician provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Key responsibilities include observing and reporting patient condition changes, assisting with daily living activities (such as meals and bathing), recording vital signs, measuring fluid intake/output, collecting specimens, and transporting patients within the hospital. They also perform one-on-one monitoring with documentation, demonstrate computer skills, follow physician orders, and use the internal paging and patient call systems. Additional tasks are assigned as needed.
Experience Required
Previous Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
Education Requirements
High School graduate or equivalent.
License/Certification Requirements
American Heart Association, (AHA) CPR (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
Special Requirements
Temporary Summer Position
Must commit to work at least 150 hours per six-week schedule .
Hours worked must include 50 hours of weekend time
A minimum of 25 hours of Monday or Friday time per six-week schedule
Will be scheduled to work at least one of the following days; July 3rd, 4th or 5th
