Description
Markon is seeking an experienced Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to provide expert occupational health and industrial hygiene services supporting the DIA Safety Office. The CIH will conduct technical evaluations, inspections, hazard monitoring, data analysis, and corrective action coordination to ensure safe working environments and regulatory compliance across assigned facilities.
Responsibilities
Provide industrial hygiene expertise and technical guidance on exposure assessment, monitoring methods, and control strategies for chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
Conduct comprehensive safety and health inspections in accordance with OSHA, DoD, and NFPA standards.
Perform indoor air quality (IAQ) evaluations, manage IAQ test equipment inventory, and report findings to leadership.
Inspect work areas, buildings, offices, mechanical spaces, and mission-critical assets to identify hazards, non-compliance issues, and potential risks.
Use specialized testing and monitoring equipment to assess workplace conditions and recommend corrective actions.
Analyze inspection and monitoring data to evaluate worker health risks and prepare formal assessment reports.
Enter and maintain accurate inspection and findings data within the DIA Safety Database.
Coordinate corrective action plans with Safety Representatives, tenant agencies, and stakeholders, including formal documentation and follow-up inspections.
Support implementation of industrial hygiene programs — including hearing conservation, respiratory protection, ergonomics, and noise reduction.
Provide ergonomic consultation support and participate in relevant health and safety working groups.
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, Toxicology, Safety Sciences, or related field.
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH).
Minimum of 6 years of experience performing industrial hygiene duties, occupational health inspections, exposure monitoring, or related responsibilities.
Experience conducting safety inspections and hazard assessments using industrial hygiene instrumentation.
Strong analytical, report writing, and professional communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Must adhere to all required trainings, policies, regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Salary Range USD $120,000.00 - USD $155,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
