Description

The Restaurant Server provides exceptional service to our guests and ensuring a positive dining experience. The position is responsible for taking orders accurately, serving food and beverages efficiently, and addressing guest needs promptly and courteously. It requires a friendly demeanor and attention to detail will contribute significantly to our restaurant's success and reputation. Essential Functions: Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival. Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations. Take accurate food and beverage orders, utilizing the point-of-sale (POS) system. Relay orders to the kitchen and bar staff promptly and accurately. Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner, following established service standards. Monitor guest tables, anticipate needs, and provide proactive service, such as refilling drinks and offering additional items. Handle guest inquiries and complaints with grace and efficiency, escalating issues to management when necessary. Process guest payments accurately and efficiently using the POS system, including handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tables, server stations, and dining areas. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations. Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned. Collaborate effectively with other team members, including kitchen staff, bartenders, and bussers, to ensure smooth and efficient service. Other Tasks: Assist with setting and clearing tables. Stock service stations with necessary supplies. Run food and beverage orders to tables as needed. Assist with training new server staff. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Communication Skills: Communicates clearly, concisely, and professionally with guests and team members, both verbally and nonverbally. Attention to Detail: Pays close attention to accuracy in order-taking, serving, and payment processing. Efficiency and Time Management: Works quickly and effectively to manage multiple tables and tasks simultaneously, ensuring timely service. Teamwork: Collaborates effectively with all team members to achieve common goals and maintain a positive working environment. Problem-Solving: Identifies and resolves guest issues and service challenges effectively and professionally. Product Knowledge: Possesses a thorough understanding of the menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage offerings. Professionalism: Maintains a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times. Adaptability: Remains flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and guest needs. Integrity and Trust: Acts ethically and honestly in all interactions. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience as a server in a restaurant setting is preferred but not always required. Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures. Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system. Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry trays of food and beverages. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
