Plans and conducts advanced scientific assignments requiring leadership and mastery of specialized technique.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Key Accountabilities</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Applies scientific method and experimental design in problem solving. Uses scientific expertise to provide solutions to problems which require technical expertise. </p>\n<p>Applies expertise in ingenuous and creative ways.</p>\n<p>• Defines mid-to-long term objectives. Able to implement plan to accomplish objectives.</p>\n<p>• May direct the work of other level scientists.</p>\n<p>• Maintains accurate and precise documentation.</p>\n<p>Writes reports and technical summaries and may represent company to outside organizations.</p>\n<p>May prepare technical abstracts or papers for presentation and/or publication.</p>\n<p>• Maintains comprehensive knowledge of scientific literature and competitive products.</p>\n<p>• Defines broad scope, critical elements of a project and selects approaches to be taken.</p>\n<p>• Handles broad assignments and objectives under minimal direction to accomplish short-term goals.</p>\n<p>• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned</p>\n<p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Networking/Key relationships</strong></p>\n<p>• Responsible for cross-functional collaboration for technical solutions in new product development and released product support projects.</p>\n<p>Frequent inter-organizational and outside contacts. May represent the company to outside organizations on technical issues.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Immunohematology, or related field.</li>\n <li>ASCP SBB (Specialist in Blood Banking) certification preferred</li>\n <li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in a transfusion service or blood center; industry experience preferred.</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of methodologies for blood group serology, molecular typing (PCR and NGS), antibody identification, and transfusion protocols.</li>\n <li>Experience with diagnostic product development, clinical trials, or innovation projects.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Management has the discretion of substituting relevant work experience for a degree and/or making exceptions to the years of experience requirement.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Skills & Capabilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Familiarity with IVD product lifecycle and regulatory pathways.</li>\n <li>Experience with blood bank automation</li>\n <li>Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to synthesize clinical needs into actionable product insights.</li>\n <li>Displays ability to be an effective team member with a stong passion for innovation</li>\n <li>Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Travel requirements:</strong></p>\n<p>As needed based on conferences and meetings to support the business objectives (10%).</p>\n<h2>Closing</h2>\n<p>If you are interested in constantly learning and being challenged on a daily basis we encourage you to submit your resume or CV.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Werfen is an Equal Opportunity employer and is committed to a diverse workplace.
