Child care counselors should be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds, reach, push and pull, and climb stairs. This position is based on a 48 hour work week. Child care counselors are expected to work extended shifts which may be up to 24 hours or occasionally may be longer. Position requires extended periods of awake time. Child care counselors need to have good judgment skills, be able to work in a crisis situation, and be capable of independent thinking.
