Come join us as we push forward into the future of industry leading technological solutions.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Berkley Technology Services: Right Team, Right Technology, Simple and Secure. </em> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The <strong>Sr. Software Engineer</strong> will be providing overall requirements gathering, design, development and support of one or more company applications for the various subsidiaries of the corporation.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates a robust understanding of all the business processes and system interfaces of a system.</li>\n <li>Can design significant new system functionality with a consideration of performance, stability, and supportability.</li>\n <li>Reviews and provides feedback on business requirements to fully leverage technology to improve business functions.</li>\n <li>Defines standards and design patterns / paradigms for system development within a team.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates problem solving skills that span the application, middleware, and infrastructure levels.</li>\n <li>Can lead technical efforts that involve multiple engineers.</li>\n <li>Acts as a mentor to other engineers promoting their development.</li>\n <li>Provides guidance on BTS development standards and quality expectations to employees entering the job family.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates a robust understanding of all functional and technical aspects of a system.</li>\n <li>Can produce significant new system functionality or defect resolution with minimal direction.</li>\n <li>Creates design specifications that demonstrate an understanding of most interfacing systems and supported business processes. (can understanding business processes go to the developer/analyst) </li>\n <li>Routinely proposes improvements to a system to improve supportability or usability.</li>\n <li>Can perform adequate peer review on any changes in the system.</li>\n <li>Can be consulted to provide recommendations to solve business issues based on experience and knowledge of current technology. </li>\n <li>Work as a collaborative part of a development team, which includes interactions with business analysts, quality assurance and end user resources</li>\n <li>Provides high quality support for our customers</li>\n <li>May provide rotating on-call support of production systems.</li>\n <li>Provide end user mentoring and training in 1-1 and small group settings.</li>\n <li>Partner with the various subsidiaries to create a vision for future advancement of our applications.</li>\n <li>Travel for this position is approximately 5-10%.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>10+ yrs. of software development experience </li>\n <li>5 to 10 years of development experience in Microsoft technologies Java stack</li>\n <li>5 to 10 years of development experience with web-based technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular and web services</li>\n <li>5 to 10years of relational database experience with MS SQL Server</li>\n <li>Ability to thrive and produce results with little or no supervision in a fast-paced environment</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills with ability to interact seamlessly at all levels with both technical and business stakeholders</li>\n <li>Strong customer service focus and sense of urgency</li>\n <li>Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and systems</li>\n <li>Superior problem solving and analytical skills</li>\n <li>Ability to function as a valuable team member inside a virtual collaboration environment</li>\n <li>Must have demonstrated the capability of meeting the key accountabilities, or have the ability to learn/perform them</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in related field or equivalent experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications that are not required but are a plus</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Agile/Scrum team exposure and experience</li>\n <li>P&C Insurance Industry knowledge</li>\n <li>Knowledge of domain driven development and/or CQRS architecture </li>\n <li>Working knowledge of ASP.NET Web Forms</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Entity Framework</li>\n <li>Experience with Atlassian tools</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Angular</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Behavioral Core Competencies</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Critical Thinking</li>\n <li>Customer Service Oriented</li>\n <li>Technically Astute</li>\n <li>Business Knowledge </li>\n <li>Influential</li>\n <li>Conceptual Thinking</li>\n <li>Personal Ownership</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Company is an equal employment opportunity employer. </p>\n<h2>Sponsorship Details</h2>Sponsorship not Offered for this Role",
