    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Position Purpose: </span></p>\r\n<p>To work part time providing private or semi-private music instruction to students on a variety of instruments.<span>  </span>To provide band coaching to small rock/pop ensembles for the purposes of live performance and recordings.</p>\r\n<p> </p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Essential Duties and Responsibilities</span></p>\r\n<p>Specific duties and responsibilities include the following but the individual will also be expected to perform all the duties necessary which are customarily performed by a person holding this position. Other duties may be assigned.</p>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span>   </span>Music Specialist</span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span></span>To provide instruction to music students in a private or semi private lesson format using a proprietary curriculum based on method books and specific methodology and arrangements created for Bach to Rock Music Schools.</li>\r\n<li><span></span>To instruct students in techniques needed to play in small groups.</li>\r\n<li><span></span>To direct small groups in playing, performing and recording original and cover songs.</li>\r\n<li><span></span>To support private student placement in pop/rock ensembles in collaboration with the School Director staff.</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Move, set up and break down equipment at the school and school events<span></span><span></span><span></span><br></li>\r\n<li><span></span>Assist in basic repair of minor site equipment and instruments</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Knowledge and Abilities</span> </p>\r\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.<span>  </span>The requirements listed here are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.<span>  </span>Under the ADA, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span></span>Must demonstrate an understanding of<span>  </span>music concepts and be able to communicate those concepts to students</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Must play a musical instrument. Multi-instrumentalists are strongly preferred.</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Must demonstrate the ability to run basic sound equipment</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Must be able to receive constructive feedback on teaching techniques and apply the feedback to new teaching situations and environments</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Must be able to be physically present at B2R for scheduled lessons and administrative responsibilities</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span></span>Advanced knowledge of music theory and technique relevant to primary instruments</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Effective time management and organizational skills</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Ability to operate basic office equipment, i.e. telephones, photocopiers and computers</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Ability to interact effectively with the public</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Ability to work effectively with B2R staff and management</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Ability to work in a fast paced environment</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Ability to adapt to change in the workplace</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Ability to pass a background check</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Education, Work Experience and/or Licensure</span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span></span>Teaching certificate and or degrees in music preferred; those who are currently enrolled in a music degree program will also be considered</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Experience in the subject area may be substituted for degree or licensure</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Language Skills</span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span></span>Must be proficient English speaking and writing skills</li>\r\n<li><span></span> Additional language(s) are a plus</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Physical Demands</span></p>\r\n<p>The physical demands listed here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of his/her job.<span>  </span>Under the ADA, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span></span>Ability to sit, stand, walk, travel up and down stairs, crouch, stoop and reach.</li>\r\n<li><span></span>Ability to lift and move the equipment typically associated with B2R’s day-to-day operation, e.g., amplifiers, keyboards, recording equipment, light furniture, etc.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Work Environment</span></p>\r\n<p>The work environment characteristics listed here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.
