Description
The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides a full range of services for patients cared for by the Medical Center at UCSF and its providers and payors. These services include, but are not limited to: drug procurement, storage, and security; safe, accurate and timely preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical pharmacy services for patients; development of drug use policies within the Medical Center; drug information services for clinicians and patients; and participation in technology assessment and quality assurance programs. The Department of Pharmaceutical Services is affiliated with the UCSF Department of Clinical Pharmacy, an academic department within the School of Pharmacy, which has primary responsibility for teaching professional courses in the Pharm.D. curriculum, clinical research, and public and clinical service.
Under the Department of Pharmaceutical Services, the Clinical Informatics Pharmacist is involved in all aspects of the medication use process at all pharmacy locations within the UCSF Health System. They may also be asked to participate in pharmaceutical care in other sectors of the Department of Pharmaceutical Services as needed. The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist performs a wide range of informatics related pharmaceutical care functions to assure that drugs prescribed for and used by patients are safe and effective. The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist will be part of an interprofessional team consisting of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other professionals. The services provided by Clinical Informatics Pharmacist include maintaining and updating clinical informatics systems, performing analytics reports, and designing and implementing medication-use technology, workflows, and protocols.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have graduated from an accredited school of pharmacy and possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) or equivalent degree as determined by the National Board of Pharmacy. For graduates in a non-US country or jurisdiction, pharmacists must have earned a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) Certification as determined by the National Board of Pharmacy. Completed an ASHP Accredited Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program or equivalent practice experience. Minimum 3-5 years of directly related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Completed an ASHP Accredited Postgraduate Year 2 (PGY2) Pharmacy Informatics Specialty Residency Program or equivalent informatics practice experience. Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Must possess a current license in good standing to practice pharmacy in the State of California or must obtain licensure within 18 months of hire. Current Epic Systems certification in one or more medication-use modules (e.g., Willow Inpatient, Willow Ambulatory, Willow Inventory, Beacon) or positioned for training and certification on hire.
