    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Wabanaki Public Health &amp; Wellness (WPHW) is growing, and we are excited to be adding new people to our team!</span>  If you value inclusivity, balance, and cultural centeredness and have a true passion for serving others, you may be a great fit for our team!  WPHW is a non-profit organization that serves four federally recognized tribes located in five communities:  the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, the Aroostook Band of Mi'kmaq, the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Indian Township, the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point, and the Penobscot Nation.  Wabanaki traditions, language, and culture guide our approach and describe the ways we live in harmony with each other and the land we collectively share.  Services are available to community members living on and off-reservation across the State of Maine.<br><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Position Summary</span>:</span></p>\n<p>Certified Nursing Assistants provide compassionate and culturally sensitive care to clients experiencing symptoms related to substance use withdraw. This individual will also provide support to help clients through their recovery process to include making sure a client feels comfortable, supported and well taken care of throughout the detox process.  CNA's work collaboratively and efficiently with a multidisciplinary team and the client through direct care, transitional support, coordination of services, and referrals.  </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Duties and Responsibilities</span>:</span></p>\n<ul></ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Provide direct patient assistance with activities of daily living and basic health care needs.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Monitor client’s vital signs as ordered or per protocol.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Escort patients to appointments, set up medical equipment and assist with medical procedures.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Prepare rooms for admissions.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Administer random urinalysis as per physician’s or licensed independent practitioners’ instructions.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Complete suicide risk assessment on all new admission and as needed during treatment.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Screen for danger to self or others.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with clients and loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support and education.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Update medical and clinical team regularly regarding all clients seen and coordinates client care.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Ensure compliance with Do Not Use Abbreviation and Sound Alike/Look Alike medication lists.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Document all client interactions, interventions, and on-going counseling services in the electronic medical record in accordance with protocols and polices.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Demonstrate adherence to accepted ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Provide emotional support through listening, counseling and answering questions.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Consult with in-house staff and other outside professionals to ensure comprehensive, quality care for clients.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Maintain professional boundaries with clients and interact with them in an appropriate manner.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Participate in team meetings and trainings.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Perform other duties as assigned.</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Education and Experience Required</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Must have a valid Maine Certified Nursing Assistant certificate<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid training, or complete training within the first 60 days of hire.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">One (1) year of detox experience preferred.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Experience working in Tribal Communities preferred.<br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Valid State of Maine Driver’s License, insurable under the WPHW’s automobile insurance plan and reliable transportation.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif;
