Responsibilities:
Support the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, maintaining consistency and quality throughout prep and service
Supervise, train, and motivate back-of-house staff, upholding standards for food safety, cleanliness, and excellence
Collaborate on menu development, contributing creative ideas that reflect Trumbull Kitchen’s innovative culinary style
Ensure accurate inventory, manage ordering, and minimize food waste
Lead by example in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth and timely service
Troubleshoot and resolve issues during service, always keeping the guest experience in mind
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in a Sous Chef or senior kitchen role in a high-volume, upscale or fine dining restaurant
Solid understanding of contemporary cooking techniques and global flavors
Experience managing kitchen operations, staff development, and quality control
Proficient in inventory management, ordering, and food cost tracking
Familiarity with health department regulations and food safety standards
Skills and Qualities:
Exceptional leadership and communication skills
Creative approach to food with a deep appreciation for high-quality, seasonal ingredients
Ability to stay calm and focused during busy service periods
Strong organizational and time-management skills
A professional and polished demeanor that reflects Trumbull Kitchen’s upscale brand
