We’re looking for a USV Ops Tech to join our Surveillance System team. Our team is responsible for the safe operation of a variety of unmanned boat systems. ThayerMahan is an industry leader in unmanned maritime system/payload integration, and our unmanned operators and Ops personnel are at the tip of that spear, delivering efficient maritime domain awareness.<br><br>In this enhanced role, you will also lead field deployments, mentor junior technicians, coordinate vessel movements, support engineering with troubleshooting and test documentation, and contribute operational feedback to improve system reliability.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Applicant Skills &amp; Qualifications:</span></p>\n<p>• U.S. Citizen (required)<br>• Active DoD security clearance or ability to obtain one<br>• Strong written and verbal communication skills<br>• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment<br>• Strong computer skills<br>• Detail-oriented with disciplined documentation practices<br>• Ability to ramp up quickly on technical subject matters<br>• Creative problem solver<br>• Full, clean Driver’s License<br>• Reliable transportation<br>• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs<br>• Must pass DOT/USCG physicals and complete STCW/GWO safety courses</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Desired Experience:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Experience working onboard small vessels</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Good understanding of maritime regulations </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Experience working with unmanned systems or ocean robotics</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Ability to read and interpret nautical charts </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Soldering/splicing cables; mechanical/electrical troubleshooting </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• 6+ years of maritime operations or marine engineering experience (preferred) </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Experience operating forklifts/cranes; towing trailers </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• QA/QC or ISO 9001/45001 documentation familiarity </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Ability to travel up to 50%, including up to 2-week at-sea trips</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Tasks and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Operation of remote comms to effectively communicate with deployed teams • Assess maritime weather systems and currents to ensure navigational safety </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Prepare, launch, pilot, and recover autonomous vehicles • Lead deck crews during at-sea operations </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Assemble and test payloads for deployments </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and RF issues with engineers </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Provide structured feedback to R&amp;D teams </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Maintain build guides and test documentation </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Coordinate packouts and vessel movements with charter captains </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Participate in customer/VIP demonstrations </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">• Mentor and train junior technicians and operators</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">ThayerMahan, Inc.
