    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>Pathlink is seeking an experienced Pathologist Assistant for a Full-time position traveling to different Hospital sites in New Jersey - Freehold, Mullica Hill, Vineland, Passaic, East Orange and Denville, NJ.</strong></p><p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>We are seeking a highly skilled <strong>Pathologists&rsquo; Assistant (PA)</strong> to perform comprehensive gross examination, dissection, and preparation of all surgical pathology specimens. This includes routine, complex, and high‑acuity cases. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and experienced working in a fast-paced pathology environment with strict quality and safety standards.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Grossing &amp; Specimen Handling</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Perform <strong>gross examination and dissection</strong>of all surgical pathology specimens, including:&nbsp;<ul type=\"circle\"><li>Biopsies</li><li>Small, medium, and large surgical resections</li><li>Complex oncologic specimens</li><li>Dermatopathology specimens</li><li>Transplant, GI, GU, GYN, breast, ENT, and orthopedic cases</li></ul></li><li>Ensure accurate description, measurement, orientation, and sampling following CAP/CLIA standards and lab protocols.</li><li>Photograph specimens, inking margins, and prepare cassettes for histologic processing.</li></ul><p><strong>Quality, Compliance &amp; Workflow</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the LIS (Laboratory Information System).</li><li>Follow all <strong>CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and institutional safety regulations</strong>.</li><li>Assist with workflow management to meet turnaround time (TAT) benchmarks.</li><li>Maintain grossing room organization: supplies, equipment, safety checks, and decontamination procedures.</li></ul><p><strong>Collaboration &amp; Support</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Work closely with pathologists to clarify specimen orientation and special handling needs.</li><li>Assist in <strong>frozen sections</strong> including embedding, cutting, staining, and communicating preliminary findings to pathologists.</li><li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives and protocol updates.</li><li>Train new staff, residents, or students as needed.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Duties</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Prepare specimens for ancillary testing: molecular pathology, flow cytometry, microbiology, and cytogenetics.</li><li>Participate in autopsy service (if applicable to the facility).</li><li>Operate and troubleshoot grossing equipment, imaging devices, and safety systems.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Master&#39;s degree from a <strong>NAACLS‑accredited Pathologists&rsquo; Assistant program</strong> required.</li><li>ASCP certification as a <strong>PA (ASCP)</strong> strongly preferred or eligible.</li><li>Prior surgical pathology grossing experience required (experience with all specimen types preferred).</li><li>Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and surgical procedures.</li><li>Strong understanding of safety regulations and lab compliance requirements.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>High attention to detail and accuracy.</li><li>Ability to gross high‑complexity specimens independently.</li><li>Strong organizational and time‑management skills in a high‑volume environment.</li><li>Excellent communication with pathologists, technologists, and clinical staff.</li><li>Comfortable working with biohazards, chemicals, and PPE.</li><li>Proficiency with LIS systems, dictation tools, and digital imaging.</li></ul><p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Hospital pathology lab setting.</li><li>Standing for extended periods in grossing room.</li><li>Exposure to chemicals, biological specimens, sharp instruments, and cryostats.</li><li>Schedule may include evenings, weekends, or on‑call coverage depending on lab needs.</li></ul><p><strong>Key Attributes for Success</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Analytical and precise</li><li>Able to prioritize under pressure</li><li>Strong problem‑solving skills</li><li>Committed to quality and patient safety</li><li>Team‑oriented and adaptable</li></ul></div></div></div>\n",
