    "description": "<h2>Department Overview</h2>\n<p>Columbia Memorial Hospital in collaboration with Oregon Health & Science University are seeking a general surgery leader to join our Astoria, Oregon group of experienced surgeons who provide general surgery care to patients in a community setting.</p>\n<h2>Function/Duties of Position</h2>\n<p>General Surgeon leadership opportunity at Critical Access Hospital on the Oregon Coast while having an affiliation with the state of Oregon’s only academic medical center.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Seeking an innovative general surgery physician leader to launch and lead the da Vinci robotic surgery program, serve as the site program director for OHSU general surgery residents and lead the general surgery program at CMH.</li>\n <li>Opportunity for growth as a clinical and administrative leader in a Clinical Associate or Academic track with OHSU employment and support.</li>\n <li>Balanced mix of dedicated OR and clinic time along with administrative time support to lead the robotic surgery program.Collaborative, established relationships with surgeons, oncology providers, radiologists, pathologists, hospitalists and primary care providers</li>\n <li>1:4 General Surgery call while maintaining prompt offsite availability.</li>\n <li>Growing and financially strong organization. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school.</li>\n <li>Board Certification or Board Eligible in General Surgery</li>\n <li>Active, unrestricted Oregon Medical License</li>\n <li>DEA Certificate</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Details</h2>\n<p><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Guaranteed base salary with annual quality incentives plus a Medical Director stipend.</li>\n <li>Administrative time support for the robotic surgery medical director position.</li>\n <li>Hiring incentives including commencement bonus and relocation.</li>\n <li>Annual CME stipend with paid educational leave.</li>\n <li>Paid time off, paid holidays and sick time. </li>\n <li>Comprehensive benefits including retirement plan options with employer matching contributions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About Columbia Memorial Hospital</strong></p>\n<p>CMH is the fastest growing rural hospital in Oregon, serving the healthcare needs of the northern Oregon coast with a collaborative relationship with Oregon Health & Science University.
