    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Job Summary&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>The Project Controls Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of project controls activities across a portfolio of Distribution capital projects and programs.&nbsp; This role oversees integrated cost management, scheduling, risk management, change control and performance reporting to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and align with organizational objectives.</p>\n<p><u>Key Job Responsibilities</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead, coach, develop and inspire a team including supervisors and individual contributors during a critical time of building a project controls team to support the Distribution organization</li>\n <li>Lead the implementation and sustainment of project controls in appropriate Distribution capital programs</li>\n <li>Ensure appropriate integration of project controls components of cost, schedule, risk, change and reporting to support effective capital deployment</li>\n <li>Create sustainable project controls process and practices to support the Distribution capital portfolio in current growth with a mindset of scalability</li>\n <li>Lead communication of Distribution project controls recommendations, outcomes and decisions</li>\n <li>Identify opportunities to enhance and/or innovate processes to create efficiencies and implement solutions</li>\n <li>Ensure that processes are aligned with governance framework and structures</li>\n <li>Build and maintain effective partnerships with Distribution capital program owners, Power Delivery Capital Governance, Distribution Portfolio Management, Project Shared Services&nbsp; and Accounting, Finance and Treasury (AFT).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Education</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or other relevant disciple preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Experience</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience</li>\n <li>Executive level presentation skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication of complex concepts</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of capital project lifecycles&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Experience in one or more areas preferred: project controls, program/project management, finance, risk management</li>\n <li>Strong facilitation skills with the ability to deliver high quality outcomes&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Advanced analytical and financial acumen</li>\n <li>Ability to influence without direct authority</li>\n <li>Experience working cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization</li>\n <li>Proven ability and determination to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Knowledge &amp; Skills</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High level of ownership and self-motivated to deliver high-quality outcomes</li>\n <li>Strong critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills and resourcefulness</li>\n <li>Proactively communicates with appropriate stakeholders</li>\n <li>Strategic thinker that can interpret details into actionable insights and communicate the business impact&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to identify streamlining opportunities and execute process improvements that provide greater efficiency to the business</li>\n <li>Ability to find opportunity in complex &amp; ambiguous environments&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders</li>\n <li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of JETS estimating software, Oracle Project, Primavera P6, Contruent and SOAR a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Behavioral Attributes</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrate behaviors in alignment with the Southern Company \"Our Values\" of Safety First, Intentional Inclusion, Act with Integrity, and Superior Performance</li>\n <li>Ensure a team culture that is inclusive, focused on operational excellence, innovative and continuously improving&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Demonstrates ability to think strategically and drive tactical execution of strategic initiatives</li>\n <li>Demonstrates ability to develop and coach a high‑performing team</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Other Requirements</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Successful candidate must be available to support storm duty</li>\n <li>Must live in/near or be willing to relocate within reasonable distance from work location</li>\n <li>This position can require some travel – approximately 25% per year</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>",
