Description The Program Coordinator for Societies is essential to maintaining effective student advising, meeting LCME requirements, and ensuring smooth operations across multiple core functions within the MD program. This role provides critical support to Society advisors, manages Capstone and the M2 Elective Lottery, oversees SGA communications and logistics, and administers Society budgets. As an Educational Specialist, the coordinator partners with curriculum faculty to coordinate program activities, enters and oversees grade processes. Without this role, advising continuity, accreditation compliance, and overall student support would be significantly compromised, placing additional strain on faculty and staff and negatively impacting the student experience. The Program Coordinator duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement. Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications. Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program. Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings. Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports. May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives. Prepares operational and statistical reports. Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups. May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers. Performs related responsibilities as required. JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES: Society Program Serve as the liaison between Society advisors and the Office of Medical Education and Student Affairs. Manage SGA listservs and SGA calendar. Coordinate logistics of the SGA meetings. Manage the Society's budget. Coordinate and track CME for SGR. Educational Specialist for the following course experiences: M2 Electives, IPE/DEIRA Threads, Capstone. Serve as a liaison in partnership with the MD program's curriculum faculty to plan and design courses, threads, and programming. Collaborates with Center for Humanizing and Innovating Medical Education (CHIME) Educational Developers and defines educational goals, objectives, and methodologies to meet course, thread, and clerkship goals. Coordinate curriculum and program activities in partnership with curriculum and program faculty. Enter student grades once confirmed by the course director and train clerkship directors/coordinators to enter student grades for clerkships Provide support services in partnership with the Center for Holistic Student Success (CHSS) –Accommodations. Writes, edits, and coordinates the development of educational materials, training manuals/standard operating procedures (SOP), newsletters, and brochures, as appropriate to the program. Maintains records and databases on student and program activities, materials, equipment, and supplies. Manage expenses for curriculum areas as appropriate. Educational Development Subcommittee Coordinate logistics and documentation of the Educational Development subcommittee activities. Will be a non-voting member of the Educational Development Subcommittee. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program. Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
