    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Learning Specialist</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-style: italic\">Full-time position to begin August 17, 2026</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Perelman Jewish Day School, a Pre-Kindergarten to 5th Grade independent school in the Philadelphia area, is seeking a motivated team player to join our community as a </span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Learning Specialist</span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"> for the 2026 - 2027 School Year.</span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">  T</span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">he Learning Specialist has the responsibility of providing support for students with learning differences.  Learning Specialists work closely with the Principal, faculty, Coordinator of Learning Support, Coordinator of Behavioral Support and Coordinator of Social and Emotional Learning.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; text-decoration: underline\">Primary Duties and Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Partner proactively with faculty and administration to support diverse learners with academic, social, and behavioral needs</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Observe and evaluate individual students displaying academic or behavioral difficulties and assess their learning strengths and challenges</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Provides research-based instruction to lead a multi-aged self-contained classroom, co-teach inclusion classes, provide small group and one-on-one support depending on the needs of the class and individual students</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Develop student accommodation/learning plans with long-term goals and specific objectives in partnership with the Coordinator of Learning Support and the OROT Director of Education</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Provide regular written student-progress reports to the school and parents with assessment results</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Maintain confidential student records and keep accurate documentation of sessions, meetings, and assessments</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Coordinate and facilitate communication between student, family, school, and other involved professionals</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; text-decoration: underline\">Job qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Bachelor’s degree in Special Education; graduate degree preferred</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Have a strong knowledge of developmental needs of young children and appropriate curricula that meet those needs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Deep knowledge of learning disabilities, psycho-educational tests, reports, and assistive technology</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Full understanding of differentiated instructional strategies across the curriculum</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Exceptional written and oral communication skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Technology skills including Google Suite and Google Classroom</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">High-energy and enthusiastic about working in the Jewish day school atmosphere</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Familiarity with the following is preferred, but not required: Training with ELL, Fundations (by Wilson), reading assessments that incorporate running records, hands-on math programs that utilize manipulatives, problem solving, and abstract thinking, Writing Workshop, The Writing Revolution, </span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA, 403(b) and tuition remission. This position is in person from late-August through mid-June.</span></p>",
