    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>THE OPPORTUNITY</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The National College of Education (NCE) at National Louis University is pleased to announce its search for a full-time faculty member at the secondary level. We seek a colleague who can help provide leadership to the program in Natural Sciences Education (biology, physics, chemistry, geology). This is a full-time, 10-month, open-ranking (Assistant/Associate) faculty position. The successful candidate will possess expertise in secondary education to support the growth of teacher preparation programs and to teach graduate-level coursework at the master’s level. Candidates will promote the infusion of current research-based and culturally responsive teaching methods into curriculum and instruction in NCE’s traditional and alternative Secondary Education programs.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>WHO WE ARE</strong></p>\n<p>NLU’s National College of Education (NCE) understands that serving PreK-12 students as teachers and school leaders is a calling, a commitment, and a career. We know this work is challenging, but we are in it together and you are inspired by the opportunity to work collaboratively with other educational leaders to optimize our impact together.</p>\n<h2>Essential Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Teaching content methods courses and practices corresponding to science curriculum expertise,</li>\n <li>Coaching teacher candidates in field-based learning experiences, </li>\n <li>Collaborating across disciplines to analyze teacher and student learning data to continuously design innovative teacher preparation practices.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Doctorate earned in Science Education or related educational field,</li>\n <li>Three or more years of secondary-level teaching experience related to the field of science, </li>\n <li>Demonstrated or planned scholarly research agenda focused on science, secondary education, or teacher education,</li>\n <li>Strong commitment to fostering and promoting quality education that is accessible for all students.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Is well-versed in the learning sciences and innovative applications of emerging technologies, </li>\n <li>Has strong teaching and research skills, </li>\n <li>Has proven experience and proficiency in teaching across various higher education platforms, including online, blended, and face-to-face formats.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>NLU Inclusion Statement:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>National Louis University is deeply committed to serving its community, advancing access and equity, and ensuring that all individuals are welcomed and valued.
