    "requisitionDescription": "<p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>TITLE: Security Resource Officer (SRO)&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>DEPARTMENT: Operations</strong></p><p><strong>REPORTS TO: Director of Wrap Around Services</strong></p><p><strong>CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-Exempt&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>PAY: $35HR.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY:</strong></p><p>The officer&rsquo;s role is to build youth &ndash; law enforcement trust, provide real-world perspectives on drug use, violence and community safety. While reinforcing harm reduction messages and drug refusal strategies.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)</strong></p><ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><li>A L.E.A.D &ndash; trained , SRO or retired officers will co-facilitate the &ldquo; Life Skills Training&rdquo; curriculum for 1 hour per day during a 6-week program.</li><li>Attend a 8 hour training course for the &ldquo;Life Skills Training&rdquo;.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></li></ol><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>RELATIONSHIPS:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Internal:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\">Maintain close, daily contact with students, faculty, and visitors to receive/provide information regarding potential problems/safety concerns, instruct, advise, and counsel.</p><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>External:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\">Maintain contact and build relationships with external staff, external community groups, schools, members&#39; parents, and others to assist in mission advancement.</p><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><strong>Education &amp; Experience</strong></p><ul style=\"margin-left: 32.35px;\"><li>Must possess and maintain current Certification by the State of Florida as a law enforcement officer.</li><li>Must complete the State of Florida School Resource Officer (SRO) Basic Training Course.</li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver&rsquo;s License.</li><li>Minimum of&nbsp;1 year of law enforcement&nbsp;experience.&nbsp;</li><li>Must have taught a prevention class to youth in the past.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:42.1pt;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><br></p><p><strong>Required Skills</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Knowledge of law enforcement techniques, methods, and procedures.</li><li>Knowledge of security principles and practices.</li><li>Energetic collaborator skilled in building and facilitating relationships.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><br></p><p><strong>Other Skills</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Candidate must pass a Level II Background screening and drug screening.&nbsp;</li><li>Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule.</li></ul><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Experience collaborating with schools, community groups, and Non-Profit experience is a plus.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p><p>Much of the work time is conducted in a school setting.
