This position may remain open past this deadline depending on the number of qualified applicants.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>POSITION DESCRIPTION<br>Job Title: Relief Cook<br>Department: White River Roundup<br>Reports To: White River Roundup Coordinator<br>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt<br>Effective Date: January 2, 2023<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>POSITION SUMMARY:<br>Prepare and serve meals at a senior nutrition site.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and do not include other non-essential or peripheral duties that may be required. Rio Blanco County reserves the right to modify or change the duties or essential functions of this job at any time.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>●Prepare and serve food for each meal according to a prepared menu, in a timely manner, which preserves nutrients, creates an appealing meal and provides sufficient quantities to meet service needs. Uses standardized recipes and portion control to prevent waste and assure quality.<br></p>\n<p>●Prepare the kitchen and dining area for preparing and serving food. Set tables and replenish supplies.<br>●Clean kitchen and dining area according to daily and monthly schedule. Appropriately stores leftovers.<br>●Ensure all equipment is clean and stored properly. Operate the dishwasher and put away clean dishes.<br>●Record food temperatures daily and handle food according to sanitary standards.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>●Keep a daily record of food used from inventory. Maintain proper rotation to prevent food waste.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>JOB QUALIFICATIONS:<br>Knowledge, skill and ability<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>●Must have a basic understanding of cooking, baking and food service equipment including ovens, grills, food processors and dishwashers.<br>●Must have skill and dexterity using kitchen cutting and chopping utensils and tools to avoid injury.<br>●Must have proficient understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.</p>\n<p>●Attention to personal hygiene is essential.<br>●Must be detail oriented, have the ability to work independently, and exercise good judgment.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Education and/or Experience:<br>Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>●High school diploma or equivalent.<br>●Prior experience in cafeteria cooking, desired.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Work Environment and Physical Demands:<br>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>●While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time on a concrete floor.<br>●The employee must occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.<br>●Considerable walking, reaching, grasping, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying objects required.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Other:<br>Contact and interaction with volunteers and the public is frequent.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This job description is not intended to be an exclusive list of all duties, responsibilities or qualifications associated with the job.
