    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides a full range of services for patients cared for by the&nbsp;<br>UCSF Medical Center and its providers and payors. These services include, but are not limited to: drug&nbsp;<br>procurement, storage, and security; safe, accurate and timely preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical&nbsp;<br>pharmacy services for patients; development of drug use policies within the Medical Center; drug information&nbsp;<br>services for clinicians and patients; and participation in technology assessment and quality assurance&nbsp;<br>programs. The Department of Pharmaceutical Services is affiliated with the UCSF Department of Clinical&nbsp;<br>Pharmacy, an academic department within the School of Pharmacy, which has primary responsibility for&nbsp;<br>teaching professional courses in the Pharm.D. curriculum, clinical research, and public and clinical service.</p><p>&nbsp;<br>The Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Services share their philosophy of pharmaceutical&nbsp;<br>care. Under the direction of Pharmaceutical Services, the Pharmacy Technician 2/Pharmacy Technician 2 PD&nbsp;<br>provides pharmaceutical care to patients across pharmacy locations within the UCSF Health System and&nbsp;<br>delivers specialized services to campus-based research operations. While the position may be primarily&nbsp;<br>assigned to a designated site, incumbents are required to demonstrate flexibility to work at all UCSF Health&nbsp;<br>locations, as operational needs dictate. All Pharmacy Technicians are accountable to the supervising or&nbsp;<br>operating pharmacist who is legally responsible by virtue of state licensure for the care and safety of patients&nbsp;<br>served by Pharmaceutical Services.
