This role will collaborate with all members of the project team, vendors, and other subcontractors to accurately define the project’s needs. The end goal is to ensure projects are delivered successfully on time & with high quality. Working hours range, depending on the project, but typically start at 6:00am or 7:00am. A typical work week is Monday through Friday but may vary depending on current projects. On “pour days” your end time will fluctuate. Responsibilities: Comply with BCI site safety first and foremost Collaborate with Field Leadership and subcontractors to understand daily construction activities and assignments, to lead crews to execute construction goals throughout projects. Receive direction from concrete foreman, while training & mentoring those working with you. Perform: o Prepare surfaces for concrete work – i.e. final grading o Concrete layout activities. Establish elevations from given benchmarks to provide top of wall, top of column, top of slab, etc. o Forming & fine grading of flatwork, sub-grade o Forming & assembly of footing / foundation forms. o Pour & Finish to project specific specifications – Flatwork & Foundations Understand plans, specifications. Ensure specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed. Perform and implement project specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) practices to ensure projects are delivered project specifications and of quality craftsmanship. Supplemental work will consist of light carpentry and selective demolition. Verify all materials reflect project specific approved submittals along with ensuring design drawings and shop drawings coincide prior to installation. Qualifications: Education, Training, & other Requirements :  High School Diploma or GED required. 5+ years of experience with Commercial Concrete required. As a BCI authorized driver, you must comply with all applicable DOT regulations, including successful completion of medical and drug evaluations required to obtain and a DOT health card.   Valid driver's license.    Preferred Qualifications: OSHA 30 or OSHA 10 Valid CDL License Procore Experience Total Station Experience ACI Certification ADA Certification Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A strong moral compass (as best represented by our Core Values) Knowledge of the concrete process, ability to from, pour, finish, and protect concrete. Ability to finish concrete to all specifications. (broomed, burned tight, etc.) Capacity to layout, set, and strip formwork for footings & foundations. Knowledge of the process and able to pour concrete in adverse weather conditions. Ability to read and cross-reference a multitude of project plans and other project documents against work being installed and implemented. Competently utilize various tools and equipment to ensure project quality, performance, and cleanliness. Ability to operate a multitude of construction equipment typically found on commercial construction job sites (Both hand tools and heavy equipment)   Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Construction sites are relatively unique situations regarding typical work conditions. Workers are exposed to cold weather conditions, hot weather conditions, non-level ground, moving mechanical equipment or other workers, high spaces, low spaces, fumes, airborne particles, exposure to shock, etc. Strict policies and in place for these differing conditions, but employees must adhere to safety policies to protect them against negative impacts of such exposures. Frequently : Communicating with others to exchange information. Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds Occasionally : Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods Lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
