Wage: Starting at $20/hour with up to $2/hour shift differential (DOE) Schedule: Week 1: Friday: 4pm to 9pm & Saturday: 5pm to 10pm Week 2: Sunday: 5pm to 10pm & Monday: 5pm - 10pm Position Overview: Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Part-Time Youth Care Provider to provide crisis and non-crisis intervention services for the children in the shelter and perform other various shelter tasks. As a leader in compassionate, trauma-informed care, Children’s Home Society is committed to fostering equity and inclusion in all aspects of our work. Financial/Education Assistance: Up to $200 per month in tuition reimbursement or student loan repayment for qualifying employees. Competitive Compensation: Starting at $20/hour with up to $2/hour shift differential (DOE) with yearly merit-based raises. Referral Bonuses: Earn up to $1,000 for referring new employees. What You Will Do: Care of Children: Maintain vigilant child supervision. Assist children with hygiene, diet, dressing and bathing. Assist with supervised visitations. Assist with routine appointments for children and transport as necessary. May assist in administration of medications to children. Complete child departure requirements. Child Behavior: Complete behavioral, CPS reports and all necessary documentation by the end of each shift. Utilize approved behavior management techniques to respond to behaviors. Safety, Policies and Procedures: Ensure safety standards and infection control policies are followed. Program Management: Facilitate structured programs, i.e., games, outdoor recreation, etc. Assist with daily, monthly and special event activities for children in shelter. Assist with training needs of staff, interns, and volunteers. Shelter Activities: May coordinate and facilitate shelter and non-shelter programs as assigned. Assist in keeping the shelter clean and orderly. Serve as back up for crisis telephone calls, drop-in counseling sessions, shelter intakes and departures. Professional Development: Complete required annual training. Maintain required certifications and proficiencies. Attend assigned meetings.
