Your Role & Impact As the Corporate Director of Medical Staff Credentials , you will provide strategic leadership and coordination for credentialing activities across the entire McLeod Health system. You will be the driving force behind ensuring that every physician and advanced practice provider practicing within our network meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Your work is foundational to our mission of delivering excellence in healthcare. What You'll Do: Maintain Professional Excellence: Maintain a professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations with leaders, providers, and co-workers in accordance with McLeod's Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Lead with Vision: Provide necessary leadership and coordination of activities to ensure goals and objectives of the McLeod Health Medical Staffs are achieved and aligned with the McLeod Health strategic plan, mission, and values. Implement Strategic Goals: Implement goals and objectives for the Corporate Credentials Department that reflect the McLeod Health strategic plan, mission, and values. Drive Innovation: Plan and develop new projects and prioritize goals and objectives on an ongoing basis. Assess New Concepts: Assess new ideas and concepts and review for possible implementation in the department. Improve Operations: Evaluate day-to-day departmental processes to identify opportunities for improvement in operations as well as cost-effective measures. Oversee System Credentialing: Develop processes for system credentialing, including managed care credentialing and medical staff quality oversight. Collaborate with Medical Staff: Collaborate with the medical staff on the development of privileges and physician performance evaluation. Serve as System Expert: Provide knowledge and expertise in the development and ongoing monitoring of credentials throughout the system and act as a consultant to hospital and medical staff committees and departments. Manage Fiscal Responsibility: Organize, plan, and implement the annual fiscal year budget for Corporate Credentials. Support Regulatory Activities: Act as a consultant and support corporate service-related credentials activities and participate in regulatory activities. Develop Policies & Tools: Participate in the formulation and updates of credentials policies and procedures; design and develop documentation forms and data collection tools that support policies and procedures. Support Medical Staff Bylaws: Provide ongoing assistance to the Medical Staff at McLeod Health in the establishment and maintenance of their bylaws and associated documents. Create Strategic Communications: Develop Credentials Strategic teaching and communication tools and serve as a liaison to individual hospitals on matters of credentials and privileging. Provide Data & Support Services: Provide data and other support services to administration, physicians, the Board of Trustees, and regulatory agencies. Oversee Data Collection: Oversee data collection and entry for reporting practice patterns, trends in patient care, and benchmarking data to administration, the medical staff, and the governing body. Stay Current & Train Others: Attend seminars and workshops to maintain current knowledge and expertise regarding program changes, introduction of new software, etc.; train employees and apprise leadership of changes. Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Assure assigned departments and staff are in compliance with all state, federal, and regulatory agencies, including assessment of continual survey readiness. Drive Strategic Growth: Strategize with system leadership on opportunities for improvement and growth while acting as a liaison with medical staff, hospital and system administration, and managed care payors. Guide Credentialing Efforts: Provide guidance to credentialing efforts for the credentialing verification organization, local medical staff office representatives, credentialing for medical staff membership and privileges, and provider enrollment activities for the organization. Support Organized Medical Staff: Support the organized medical staff in carrying out their responsibilities. Serve as Professional Resource: Serve as a professional resource to the Medical Staff and hospital leadership regarding medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, and policies. Lead Policy & Program Initiatives: Be responsible for planning, implementing, and directing medical staff policies, programs, and initiatives in collaboration with medical staff and system leaders on a local and system level. Support Practitioner Peer Review: Work collaboratively with clinical quality leadership and medical staff to support practitioner peer review. Provide Supervision: Complete other job duties and supervision as assigned. What You Bring: Experience: Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience with a strong emphasis in medical staff credentialing and privileging, including demonstrated expertise in: Extensive verbal and written communication skills Problem-solving and organizational skills Conflict negotiation skills Development of processes and quality improvement Education: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration from an accredited school. Preferred: Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration. Management Experience: Prior management experience in Healthcare and/or Medical Staff Services required.
