Together, we are helping to shape the energy landscape for a more sustainable tomorrow.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>VHB is looking to add a Civil/Structural/Electrical Engineer with transmission line design experience to join our growing Energy Engineering practice.  The position would be part of an integrated team supporting substation, distribution line, sub-transmission line, and transmission line project design, permitting, access, and construction support.  The position can be based anywhere in VHB’s footprint and be within a reasonable driving distance to one of our offices to engage in our hybrid work environment but preference for Atlanta, GA, Watertown MA office locations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support electric distribution/sub-transmission/transmission upgrade and refurbishment projects.</li>\n <li>Compile, review, and assess engineering archives, vendor drawings, and equipment specifications. </li>\n <li>Design/Assess overhead lines, wood, concrete, tapered tubular steel, hybrid structures, and deep foundations.</li>\n <li>Prepare bill of materials, structure work lists, minor design packages, major design packages, staking diagrams, plan and profile drawings, design specifications. </li>\n <li>Prepare written technical reports and oral presentations documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations. </li>\n <li>Provide mentorship and training to entry level and junior engineering personnel.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Attributes </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong project management skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.</li>\n <li>Self-motivated with ability to think critically.</li>\n <li>Experience with GIS Systems, PLS-CADD, Asset Management systems, and Microsoft Office products.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>B.S. in Civil/Structural/Electrical Engineering with a concentration in structures/power</li>\n <li>Min 8-11+ years of professional engineering experience within the utilities industry (a Master’s degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience)</li>\n <li>Professional Engineering license expected</li>\n <li>Familiar with NESC recommended</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Boston/Watertown, MA is $120,000-160,000 The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Building what’s next, together.</strong></p>\n<p>Our people make the difference.
