    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>DORDT UNIVERSITY</strong></span></p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>JOB DESCRIPTION</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>JOB TITLE: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </strong>Graduate Student Assistant Swim Coach<strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>DEPARTMENT: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </strong>Athletic Department</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>REPORTS TO:&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </strong>Head Swim Coach</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>PURPOSE OF POSITION:&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The purpose of this position so to assist the head coach in the development and growth of the swim program at Dordt, which will support the mission of the university as well as bring a knowledge and passion of swimming to students, with a commitment to excellence and bringing glory to God.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Assist the head coach with daily swim practices and dryland sessions.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Lead assigned practice groups or sets under Head Coach supervision. &nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Provide technical instruction in stroke development, starts, and turns.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Support meet preparation, entries, and competition management.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Assist with team travel and home meet operations.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Communicate with prospective student-athletes as directed by the Head Coach.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Help coordinate recruiting visits and maintain recruiting records. &nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Support student-athlete academic success and team culture.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Assist with equipment, scheduling, and administrative tasks.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ensure compliance with institutional and governing body policies (NAIA)</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director.&nbsp;</span></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 48px;\"><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively.</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ability to express an active Christian commitment, which shall include identification with a local organized church that holds to beliefs that are consistent with the mission of the university.</span></p></li><li><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Prospective members of the Dordt University community are expected to agree with its sexuality, gender identity, and sexual conduct policy which can be found on the DU website (contact the HR Office if you need additional information).</span></p></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Understanding and commitment to the mission of Dordt University.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Bachelor’s degree required along with admission to the Dordt University Master’s program.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate swim skills and fundamentals.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with student athletes, athletic officials, and all university constituents.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Effective verbal and written communications skills.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ability to organize and prioritize work.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ability to work well independently as well as a part of a team.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Knowledge of NAIA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student athletes.</span></li></ul>",
