This role involves preparing job sites, handling materials, and assisting skilled trades workers to ensure safe and efficient completion of projects.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Under the supervision of a higher-level operations or maintenance employee, perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of utility systems and associated facilities</li>\n <li>Assist technicians, equipment operators, and other tradespeople with utility installation, maintenance, and repair work</li>\n <li>Clean and prepare worksites by removing debris, excavating materials, and setting up necessary equipment</li>\n <li>Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact soil to support underground utility installation</li>\n <li>Handle, transport, and stage materials such as pipe, conduit, fittings, gravel, and other construction supplies</li>\n <li>Operate hand tools and power tools such as shovels, jackhammers, drills, saws, and compactors</li>\n <li>Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks including digging, trenching, lifting, and material placement</li>\n <li>Place and maintain warning signs, barricades, and traffic control devices to ensure a safe work zone</li>\n <li>Assist with the setup and removal of trench boxes, shoring, and other temporary structures</li>\n <li>Maintain awareness of underground utilities and job site hazards to prevent damage or injury</li>\n <li>Report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately</li>\n <li>Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment</li>\n <li>Perform other labor-related duties as assigned in support of utility operations</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong>:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.</li>\n <li>Responsible for the health and safety of others. Practices good safety habits.</li>\n <li>Perform a variety of duties which may often change.</li>\n <li>Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.</li>\n <li>Repeat tasks of short duration according to a sect procedure.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, methods, and techniques.</li>\n <li>On-the-job training required.
