Our LPNs enjoy a unique opportunity to gain extensive clinical experience and provide advanced care in a home-like setting. </li>\n <li>Direct nursing care of residents encompasses planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating the care of residents to ensure that the highest degree of quality care and regulatory compliance is maintained at all times.</li>\n <li>State LPN license required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>About Elderwood at Cheektowaga:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Centrally located to the metro-Buffalo region, Elderwood at Cheektowaga is a well-established long-term care community offering round-the-clock skilled nursing care and comprehensive subacute rehab services. Residents with dementia benefit from Elderwood’s Seasons Memory Care program. The community is part of a continuum on the suburban campus that allows seniors to age in place with Elderwood assisted living and independent living communities nearby.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>(LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Administer medications and treatments to assigned residents as ordered by physician and utilizing the five rights as applicable.</p></li>\n <li><p>Direct and monitor the personal care duties and nursing care procedures carried out by Nursing Assistants of the assigned team.</p></li>\n <li><p>Assist Nursing Assistants with direct care of residents, as necessary.</p></li>\n <li><p>Report to Unit Manager/Assistant Unit Manager or Charge Nurse Supervisor unusual symptoms, changes of condition, daily needs, and progress of residents.</p></li>\n <li><p>Follow the Plan of Care for each resident, and monitor the performance of Nursing Assistants in implementation of the care plan.</p></li>\n <li><p>Receive controlled substances from the shift Supervisory Nurse and is responsible for all aspects of the storage and distribution of these medications; ensure proper and safe placement and use of medications stored in medication cart, stock medication cupboards, medication room refrigerator and narcotic cabinets.</p></li>\n <li><p>Document as applicable in the care plans, Nursing Notes, Medical Administration Records, Treatment Records and other required records.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse Skills/Competencies:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Exceptional customer service skills</li>\n <li>Problem-solving skills</li>\n <li>Strong decision making ability</li>\n <li>Proficient computer skills</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>From</h2>\n<h2>Up to</h2>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>(LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a current state license required. </p></li>\n <li><p>LPN Training and work experience in a geriatric setting preferred. </p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to supervise and work well with other personnel required. </p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing required. </p></li>\n <li><p>Caring, respectful attitude towards residents required. </p></li>\n <li><p>Physical stamina for constant activity required. </p></li>\n <li>Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence required.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
