Your adventure begins here – because<em> </em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Opportunity Changes Everything!</em></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Duties and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participates in the assessment, goal setting and progress evaluation of children / youth alongside mental health clinician and behavioral consultant and each youth’s Circle of Care.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Teaches children / youth to relate in a socially appropriate manner using daily routines and activities.</li>\n<li>Monitors clients in a residential setting and ensures their safety and wellbeing.</li>\n<li>Provides behaviour management counselling to clients on a one-to-one and/or group basis by performing duties such as providing feedback on clients’ behaviour, teaching coping techniques and adaptive behaviour and providing guidance and support.</li>\n<li>Provides emotional support and crisis intervention to clients which may include non-violent physical interventions.</li>\n<li>Ensures communication and liaison between group home, school, family and the community.</li>\n<li>Ensures that clients’ physical needs are met by performing duties such as assisting with basic personal hygiene, preparing meals, and administering medication as required in accordance with established guidelines, procedures and instructions.</li>\n<li>Maintains reports such as statistics, logbooks, and daily activities on residents.</li>\n<li>Carries out household duties such as meal preparation and household cleaning.</li>\n<li>Administers medication to clients in accordance with established policy.</li>\n<li>Accompanies clients to appointments and community outings.</li>\n<li>May be required to work the on-call rotation.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma in a related human / social service field.</li>\n<li>Two (2) years recent related experience.</li>\n<li>Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.</li>\n<li>Class 5 driver’s licence</li>\n<li>Successful completion of Agency screening process, including a consolidated criminal record check (CCRC) and the Criminal Records Review Act check (CRRA) completed by the HUB</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Please Note:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>This position is open to all applicants</li>\n<li>This position requires union membership</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hours: </span>28 hours per week</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesday &amp; Thursday: 4pm – 12am</li>\n<li>Friday: 8 am – 4pm</li>\n<li>Saturday: 12pm – 8pm</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Rate of Pay</span>: $27.54 per hour</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Closing Date: </span>Open until filled.</p>\n<p><em> </em></p>\n<p><em>As an equal opportunity employer, BGC Okanagan is committed to the prioritization of equitable and inclusive employment practices.
