Description

Overview The VIRGINIA Class design program is entering a period of significant growth, with the NAVY seeking more and more capabilities for its in-service and under development submarines. This includes upgrades and modernization to its Block V, Block VI and Block VII new design efforts as well as a single ship program which is the Subsea and Seabed Warfare program. Job Description The VIRGINIA Class Integration organization is seeking a highly motivated P/C Tech Aide to perform several key roles, as described below, in support of the existing and future design programs. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will assist the Major Area Team Leaders (MATLS) and Major Area Team Integration Team Leader (MAITL) in the planning, execution and documentation of team activities as well as have a good understanding of organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively at the various levels of the major area team organization. Candidates must have a desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Specific areas of responsibilities include: Coordinate and participate with the Major Area team review and approvals supporting the Major Area Team Leaders Coordinate and assist with arrangement meetings that include video teleconference (VTC) agendas with NAVSEA, preparing VTC presentation summaries and VTC conference reports Develop and publishing Major Area Team actions items, assisting in the progressing of the team schedules and expediting sign –off of MAT products such as approvals sheets and conference reports. Developing and submitting weekly upcoming arrangement product reports to the Major Area Integration Team Leader for all Forward End VIRGINIA programs Assist with Waterfront MAT action items and weekly status meetings that include “Shake the Tree “Fast cruise efforts with the MAITL for the upcoming commissioning ships. Run reports and produce data packages for various work, meetings and presentation reviews supporting the MAITL Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent 1-5 years relevant experience such as working with excel, tracking actions and working with different levels of management The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense secret clearance Must have strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency in MS Office products and Microsoft Excel and Word Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Familiarity with submarine ship systems and operations is preferred. Experience with major area teams is beneficial. Skills Skills: Adapt priorities to support urgent needs and communicate changes in completion dates or priorities to management Ability to work flexible hours as required to support department objectives
