Our size and hands-on management style let us move quickly, embrace new opportunities, and empower our people to shape their own careers—without getting lost in corporate bureaucracy.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">A typical day on the job might look like:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Providing field and technical support to a wide variety of environmental projects; including the preparation and supervision of field programs, data collection, data analysis, technical report writing and proposal preparation.  </li>\n<li>Designing and conducting field investigations, including drilling and logging, test pitting, soil and bedrock characterization, monitoring well installation, hydraulic response testing, soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water sampling, installation of groundwater instrumentation, etc.</li>\n<li>Assisting intermediate and senior staff prepare technical environmental reports including environmental site assessments (Phase One and Two) and excess soil reporting.   </li>\n<li>Interpretation and application of provincial and federal acts and regulations.   </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The good stuff you get:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Salary range of $50,000 - $70,000 per year</li>\n<li>Full time permanent salaried position </li>\n<li>Employee owned company with future potential to be a shareholder</li>\n<li>Year end profit sharing bonus</li>\n<li>Health and dental benefits</li>\n<li>Matching RRSP up to 5%</li>\n<li>Paid time off (vacation starting at 3 weeks per year and sick days)</li>\n<li>Office year-end closure (paid time off between Christmas and New Years)</li>\n<li>Work/life balance including a 37.5 hour work week and flexible working arrangements</li>\n<li>Growth and development opportunities as we work on a large variety of projects so you can build your skills and experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Your qualifications and what you bring:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undergraduate degree in a related field (environmental engineering, environmental science or geoscience) from an accredited institution.  </li>\n<li>Pathway to eligibility for professional registration (e.g. P.Eng. or P.Geo.) </li>\n<li>2-4 years of relevant professional experience (preferably in consulting).  Experience in environmental site assessment and remediation and/or on-site and excess soil management, with working knowledge and practice of Ontario Regulations 153/04 and 406/19 would be considered an asset.   </li>\n<li>Understanding and demonstrated field experience in soil classification, overburden and bedrock drilling methods, and soil, sediment, surface water and groundwater sampling protocols is considered an asset. </li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of environmental site characterization and remediation, and groundwater and surface water monitoring programs. </li>\n<li>Ability and interest to undertake extensive fieldwork, in a range of weather conditions, including working in remote locations and on “out of town” projects requiring overnight stays.</li>\n<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such Word and Excel are required. Proficiency with other software, such as CAD, GIS, Surfer, gINT, and hydrogeology modeling software, will be an asset. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle for work related travel.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Interested individuals, click here to apply: <a href=\"https://gemtec.bamboohr.com/careers/318\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https://gemtec.bamboohr.com/careers/318</a> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Thank you for taking the time to consider GEMTEC.
