Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, we thrive on building communities, building teams, building leaders, and growing the business throughout the Southeast region with offices in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">About the Role</span></span> </p>\n<p>We’re looking for an<span> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Assistant Surveyor</span><span> </span>to assist the surveyor and provide support for construction layouts and survey work.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Core Responsibilities</span></span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Field Surveying Support</em></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li>Support surveying activities under the direction of the Surveyor or site leadership.</li>\n<li>Assist with establishing baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements for ground surveys.</li>\n<li>Perform survey layouts and collect related data as instructed.</li>\n<li>Mark survey points out by driving stakes, nails, and hubs into surfaces.</li>\n<li>Assist with installing level loops and conducting traverses.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Equipment Use and Care</em>\n<ul>\n<li>Assemble, disassemble, check, adjust, and maintain surveying instruments and equipment, including GPS base-station and rover, robotic total station, site levels, and laser levels.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure equipment is properly handled, cleaned, and stored after use.</li>\n<li>Report malfunctions or issues to the Surveyor timely.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Data Collection and Documentation</em>\n<ul>\n<li>Record field measurements and assist with verifying accuracy of survey data.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain daily logs, field notes, sketches, and reports as directed.</li>\n<li>Reference and assist with interpreting project drawings, specifications, field books, maps, deeds, and other records.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Quality and Safety</em>\n<ul>\n<li>Support quality-control checks on site layouts, site work, and traffic control.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Follow all company safety policies and procedures.</li>\n<li>Identify and report risk and hazards observed in the field.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Learning and Additional Duties</em>\n<ul>\n<li>Take initiative to learn the purpose and process of a Surveyor’s duties.</li>\n<li>Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn new skills.</li>\n<li>Assist with special projects as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Preferred Qualifications</span></span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 – 3 years of experience in construction surveying or a closely related field.</li>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalent;
