Rooted in and primarily focused on the Chelsea neighborhood, we seek to empower all individuals and families to achieve their highest potential, while maintaining a priority on those in economic need.</em></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Our Early Childhood Education department services low income children ages 2 to 4 in Chelsea and other neighboring communities on the west side of Manhattan. Whether you're a recent graduate who is new to the field, or a seasoned veteran teacher, we welcome all teachers to join Hudson Guild in creating a healthy, nurturing and collaborative learning environment. Following DO</span><span>H Article 47 programming, our teachers implement curriculum that supports each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth and development.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\">MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px\">Study plans accepted if currently enrolled in an accredited BA or MA program and have an Associates in ECE with field experience or 90 or more undergraduate credits</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px\">Work a daily 8 hour shift, Monday-Friday</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px\">Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and/or related field</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px\">Master's in Early Childhood Education and/or related field</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px\">Early Childhood (Birth-Grade 2); Nursery, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-6 (N-6); Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2)</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px\">Bilingual in either Spanish/English; Mandarin/English; Cantonese/English</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work collaboratively with classroom staff to ensure a safe and healthy classroom</li>\n<li>Supervise staff in the classroom including assistant teachers, aides, volunteers, and therapists</li>\n<li>Develop lesson plans that are aligned with the Creative Curriculum format and the Common<br>Core Standards</li>\n<li>Prepare monthly class newsletter</li>\n<li>Effectively communicate the development and progress of children with families using cultural<br>sensitivity</li>\n<li>Responsible for identifying children with disabilities and assisting with referrals</li>\n<li>Maintain up to date documentation for children in your classroom, including being responsible<br>for assessing children in the classroom, writing monthly observations, and conducting home<br>visits</li>\n<li>Responsible for maintaining and updating classroom setting regularly</li>\n<li>Attend weekly teacher meetings, monthly in-service training's, and other professional<br>development training's</li>\n<li>Follow governing agency guidelines including the Department of Health &amp; Mental Hygiene,<br>Head Start, Administration for Children's Services, and Universal Pre-Kindergarten</li>\n<li>Be aware of programmatic targets and goals and work towards these in all activities provided<br>to participants</li>\n<li>Collect and enter required data in a timely manner</li>\n<li>Engage in professional development and apply learned knowledge towards using evidence-based best practices</li>\n<li>Engage in data analysis processes conducted by the Evaluation and Quality team to determine<br>strengths and areas for improvement and follow action steps in the Continuous Quality<br>Improvement (CQI) process</li>\n<li>Assist in carrying out and participate in Community Building activities to support organizational effectiveness and outreach</li>\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Due to the spread out nature of our network of sites, programs and populations along the West Side of Manhattan, location assignments are prone to temporary fluctuations, dependent upon staff coverage needs and special events.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Hudson Guild is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</span></p>",
