Description JOB SUMMARY Responsibility for a variety of specialized activities required to enhance organizational capabilities. This could include skill assessment, training/mentoring, systems improvement, complex machinery investigations, data analysis, coordination of activities with engineering or outside equipment suppliers, preparation of presentation materials to secure resources or leadership support, etc. This position is intended to retain and attract talent with highly marketable skills that are essential to sustain our business competitiveness. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide technical support to Maintenance team members to troubleshoot complex problems in order to recover highly automated production equipment quickly. Assess skill levels of Maintenance team members Provide training to team members to close skill gaps Investigate difficult-to-resolve machine problems to determine root cause and implement countermeasures à primarily after other technician’s efforts have failed Spec and/or implement countermeasures to improve machine reliability or to upgrade obsolete machine components à primarily for complex issues that cannot be delegated to Maintenance team members Coordinate with machine design and/or PE teams when large or complex design solutions are needed to improve machine reliability or to upgrade obsolete machine components Lead or support a variety of special projects to improve machines and or team member skills – this could include investigation, planning developing proposals, coordination with vendors, summarizing information into presentation materials, etc. Review machine specs and designs prior to construction and make recommendations for improvement to design concepts in order to enhance future maintainability and reliability Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive Preventive and Predictive Maintenance plan and procedures for automated equipment Analyze data to identify opportunities to improve the reliability, quality, or productivity of equipment Note: Duties and responsibilities may require extended periods of off-shift work, call-in work, or on-call work schedules QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications listed. Education High school diploma or completion of high school equivalence exam required Completion of formal apprenticeship training program to the satisfaction of DENSO management, or 3 years of industrial maintenance experience with extensive knowledge of industrial maintenance as determined by the job interview and evaluation process Work Experience 5 or more years of multi craft maintenance experience SKILLS AND ABILITIES Able to work mostly independently with limited supervision support required Strong PLC experience Demonstrated competencies: Acting to Build Trust Managing Work Customer Focus Initiating Actions Individual Development Integrating Change Effective Communication Teamwork Organizational Understanding Problem Solving Demonstrated competency in working with computer software à to manipulate, analyze and reconcile data Excellent written and verbal communication skills required Demonstrated competency to independently evaluate situations and develop innovative solutions to complex problems , applying knowledge of specialty area and use of sound judgement Knowledge of industrial safety practices and procedures Basic project management skills required A bility to use the PDCA and PM analysis process to identify the root cause of equipment related problems PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
