Description
Strong project managers are essential to our success. We’re looking for a professional to support our growing Industrial Water Team. In this role, you will lead some of the industry's best engineers while executing highly technical, complex projects including pre-treatment wastewater systems and industrial wastewater treatment plants.
Our Mountain Water team is a dynamic group that focuses on water and wastewater projects for municipal and industrial clients, spanning treatment, distribution and collection, and more. Our project managers do not just manage projects – they are a vital part of our leadership team that have an active role in developing others, shaping the types of projects we pursue, and winning projects. We are looking for project managers with technical backgrounds in planning, design, and construction.
We need an Industrial Water Project Manager who will:
Share ideas and boldly explore technical solutions and thought leadership. We are a diverse team with ambitious goals – be a part of the constantly evolving story! Bring outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills to lead project teams through challenging requirements and overlapping schedules. These skills and a flexible, team-player attitude are essential for building relationships at all levels of our organization and managing multiple deadlines in our dynamic environment. Be excited to coach and mentor other engineers to shape the leaders of tomorrow. We appreciate the lessons you have learned in your career and technical chops you bring to the table, and we want you to be a hands-on participant in the growth of others. Understand and apply conventional and advanced treatment technologies to solve complex water and wastewater challenges for clients nationally. Provide leadership and guidance through all aspects of engineering projects from concept to completion, including overall safety, quality, engineering, procurement, construction, permitting, project controls, and public/community relations. Collaborate and coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams to provide deliverables and services that meet internal QA/QC requirements and client expectations. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout each project, building a relationship as a trusted partner as the project progresses. Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and plan for the financial success of your projects. Plan, organize, and communicate project personnel needs to department management. Communicate project progress, cost and schedule metrics, design questions, and project challenges requiring additional support to department management. Provide performance feedback for project team members as appropriate. Work to proactively identify and position Burns & McDonnell for upcoming projects and opportunities; utilize business development skills to lead proposals, win new projects, and increase existing client base. Leverage existing client relationships and focus on repeat work within each client account. Manage the review, negotiation, approval, and execution of prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders. Be visible in the regional water and wastewater marketplace through leadership and participation in professional organizations. Provide guidance and industry feedback or trends to the water leadership team.
