    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Element is looking for a Mechanical Technologist to conduct product testing performance evaluations in accordance to well defined standards, standard operating procedures, and/or performance specifications. The successful candidate will be involved in specimen setup, data acquisition, test execution, scheduling, equipment maintenance / calibration, client interaction and technical report writing.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> $26.00 - $33.00 / hour (DOE)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>• Involvement in sample preparation, test setup/fixturing, test execution, data collection & analysis.• Reviewing and understanding of test requirements per relevant standards and specifications.• Technical report writing containing specimen description, observations / test results per standard or performance requirements.• Coordinating equipment calibration per Element quality procedures.• Purchasing materials and maintaining equipment.• Typical product evaluation methods: compression, tension, torsion, displacement, impact, stock, vibration and thermal exposure.</p>\n<h2>Skills / Qualifications</h2>\n<p>• Completion of a College program in Engineering or Technology• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working in an engineering or industrial environment.• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, controllers and data acquisition systems.• Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane.• Experience with common hand and power tools (ability to weld is an asset).• Computer proficiency (MS Office).• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• 3+ years of experience in a similar role.• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.• Ability to read and understand customer technical specifications.• Conduct safe material handling per Element guidelines.</p>\n<h2>Company Overview</h2>\n<p>Element is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
