    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>JOB PURPOSE:</strong> The Safety Manager is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies. This role partners with operations to identify hazards, implement preventative measures, and drive a culture of safety awareness and accountability across the facility.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards, as well as company policies and procedures.</li><li>Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks.</li><li>Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, covering topics such as proper equipment usage, emergency procedures, and hazard awareness.</li><li>Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.</li><li>Develop and update safety policies and procedures in collaboration with management, keeping them aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Promote a culture of safety by communicating regularly with employees, providing guidance on safe work practices, and encouraging active participation in safety initiatives.</li><li>Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure that all employees are trained to respond effectively to emergencies such as fires, chemical spills, and medical incidents.</li><li>Lead or participate in the safety committee, fostering collaboration and engagement among members to address safety concerns and drive continuous improvement.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.</li><li>SQF/ISO requirements compliance</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE</strong>:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.</li><li>Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in plastics or packaging industry.</li><li>Experience as a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) trainer or Train-the-Trainer, with the ability to deliver operator training, evaluations, and refresher instruction, is preferred.</li><li>Ability to influence and motivate others to prioritize safety.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software for record keeping and data analysis.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for extended periods of time.</li><li>Ability to lift, push, or pull up to <strong>25&ndash;35 pounds</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong>occasionally.</li><li>Ability to climb ladders, access elevated platforms, and work around large industrial equipment.</li><li>Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements as required while inspecting equipment or processes.</li><li>Ability to visually inspect sheet quality, gauges, and instrumentation.</li><li>Must be able to wear required <strong>personal protective equipment (PPE)</strong> including safety glasses, hearing protection, and protective footwear.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Work is performed in a <strong>manufacturing environment</strong> that includes extrusion lines, thermoforming equipment, and material handling systems.</li><li>The production floor may include <strong>elevated noise levels, moving machinery, and variable temperatures</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong>typical of plastics processing operations.</li><li>The role requires regular time spent both <strong>in an office setting and on the manufacturing floor</strong> supporting production and troubleshooting processes.</li><li>Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to support <strong>production issues, trials, or process improvements</strong> across different shifts.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>At-Will Employment</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
