    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p data-pasted=\"true\">SPORT: VARSITY FOOTBALL</p><p>POSITION: DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR&nbsp;</p><p>REPORTS TO: Athletic Director/HS Principal&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>The <strong>Varsity Football Defensive Coordinator</strong> at Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School for the SY 2026-2027 fall athletic season is a vital component of our athletic program. This role will oversee the total operation of the defensive unit.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li><strong>Program Leadership:</strong> Design and implement the overall defensive philosophy, playbook, and terminology.</li><li><strong>Game Planning:</strong> Lead the scouting process, analyze opponent film (Hudl), and develop weekly game plans and call sheets.</li><li><strong>Staff Coordination:</strong> Oversee defensive position coaches (DL, LB, DB) to ensure all drills align with the overarching team strategy.</li><li><strong>Training &amp; Mentorship:</strong> Lead practice sessions focused on skill development, stamina, and technique; provide constructive feedback via film review; and foster an environment of academic accountability and sportsmanship.</li><li><strong>Compliance:</strong> Adhere strictly to all MIAA regulations, as well as the AKF student, employee, and athletic handbooks.</li><li><strong>Operations:</strong> Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment, uniforms, and first-aid supplies.</li><li><strong>Culture:</strong> Model AKF Character virtues at all times and instill a competitive, teamwork-oriented spirit in all athletes.</li><li><strong>Collaboration:</strong> Work closely with the Varsity Head Coach and the Athletic Director regarding all aspects of the program.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements and Certification</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Maintain current certification through the MIAA.</li><li>Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.</li><li>Successful completion of a CORI and SAFIS background check.</li></ul><p>Stipend Details</p><ul style=\"margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Position/Activity: Varsity Football Defensive Coordinator</li><li>Stipend Amount: $3,200 (gross, pre-tax)</li><li>Stipend Period: August 2026 through end of athletic season</li><li>Payment Schedule: Paid in one installment on 11/27/2026 ($3,200)</li><li>Funding Source (if applicable): General Fund</li></ul><p><br></p><p><u>This stipend is a flat-rate amount and not based on hourly work unless otherwise required by applicable law or the terms of a specific grant.</u></p><p><strong>MTRS ELIGIBILITY: BASED ON INDIVIDUAL&rsquo;S MTRS ELIGIBILITY</strong></p><p><em>Disclaimer Regarding Stipend Pay and MTRS Eligibility</em></p><p><em>In the context of the Massachusetts Teachers&rsquo; Retirement System (MTRS), certain stipends may be considered part of your &ldquo;regular compensation&rdquo; and therefore may be creditable toward your retirement benefits.
