We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Associate to join our ETF Service Delivery Team. The position is located in Boston, MA ( 4 day in office expectation).
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Conduct collateral movement for ETF settlements across multiple domiciles. Coordinate ETF basket‑level settlement monitoring, communication with Authorized Participants (APs), and cash wire processing. Engage with APs to coordinate collateral calls for delayed settlement ETF creates. Receive and release funds to segregated custody accounts; process wires and confirmations. Perform intraday monitoring and exception handling through market close to support timely issuance of ETF units. Track and return excess collateral accurately and promptly; ensure precision in cash movements. Maintain detailed documentation and evidencing for operational steps, approvals, and communications. Escalate breaks and risk items; coordinate resolution across APs, Custody, and ETF operations. Serve as a primary operational contact for APs on collateral logistics and settlement readiness. Operate within defined control frameworks, dual‑control processes, and approval checkpoints. Regularly interact with stakeholders to answer questions and resolve issues regarding fund balances and processes. Assist in evaluating GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine the impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices. Execute day‑to‑day collateral processing, wire initiation steps, and confirmations in adherence to procedures. Perform intraday monitoring, reconcile positions vs. collateral, and resolve exceptions. Prepare operational artifacts and hand‑offs for Approver sign‑off; maintain complete records.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 5-7 years of total work experience preferred. Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm preferred. Ability to provide guidance to less experienced team members. May have people management responsibilities in some geographies. Experience in ETF operations, custody, collateral management, or securities settlement (Canadian market knowledge is a plus). Strong understanding of in‑kind ETF creation/settlement workflows and cash collateral mechanics. Proficiency with operational systems; experience with wire processing and reconciliations is preferred. Excellent attention to detail, control mindset, and documentation rigor; comfortable with intraday monitoring through market close. Strong communication skills to manage AP interactions and cross‑functional coordination. Ability to prioritize, manage exceptions, and make risk‑aware decisions under time constraints.
