    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>Provides direct support services and spiritual care to patients and their families with compassion, caring, and respect.\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2> \n<p><strong><u>Patient/Family Support and Spiritual Care</u></strong></p> \n<ul> \n <ul> \n  <li>Assesses the spiritual needs of patients and families.</li> \n  <li>Demonstrates effectiveness in the spiritual care of individuals regardless of their belief system, values or cultural factors.</li> \n  <li>Develops and coordinates communication with local clergy.</li> \n  <li>Works with staff, local clergy, and community groups to enhance their sensitivity to the spiritual concerns of patients/families.</li> \n  <li>Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.</li> \n  <li>Provides supportive care in times of grief, crisis and end-of-life.</li> \n  <li>Provides emotional/spiritual support to patients, families, and staff.</li> \n </ul> \n</ul> \n<p><strong><u>Patient Family Centered Care</u></strong></p> \n<ul> \n <ul> \n  <li>Gathers and evaluates relevant data pertinent to the patient’s situation and/or bio-psycho-social-spiritual/religious health.</li> \n  <li>Develops and implements a plan of care to promote patient well-being and continuity of care.</li> \n  <li>Enters information into the patient’s medical record that is relevant to the patient’s medical, psycho-social, and spiritual/religious goals of care.</li> \n  <li>Incorporates patient, family as defined by the patient and other team members when planning care and service delivery.</li> \n  <li>Demonstrates an attitude that creates an atmosphere of respect for human differences, beliefs, values and the uniqueness of each person encountered.</li> \n  <li>Partners with patients and families to allow for effective decisions and participation in care.</li> \n  <li>Shares complete and unbiased information with patients and families, with patients' consent.</li> \n </ul> \n</ul> \n<h2>Qualifications</h2> \n<ul> \n <li>Master of Divinity or Master of Theology</li> \n <li>Clinical Pastoral Care Certification from an accredited institution including theological studies or equivalent in experience, skills, and education</li> \n</ul>",
