Actively participates with the hiring, training, evaluation and day to day supervision of pharmacy staff.<br><br></p><p><strong>MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><p>1. Supervises pharmacy staff including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.</p><p>2. Directs, coordinates and supervises pharmacy production activities including drug preparation, sterile products preparation, dispensation and delivery.</p><p>3. Participates/assists the Warehouse Coordinator in the procurement of drugs, supplies and equipment used in preparing and administering drugs.</p><p>4. Performs duties of the clinical pharmacist when necessary.</p><p>5. Maintains clinical skills and knowledge of pharmacotherapy and intravenous therapy by reviewing the literature and attending in-services, seminars and conferences.</p><p>6. Participates in recruitment and hiring of potential new pharmacy operations personnel.</p><p>7. Performs performance reviews, at least annually, on pharmacy personnel.</p><p>8. Participates/coordinates in the orientation and training of pharmacy, operations and other organization employees.</p><p>9. Participates in branch management and inter-departmental meetings as required.</p><p>10. Coordinates/participates in departmental meetings as scheduled.</p><p>11. Guides pharmacy toward achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual projections based on financial and management objectives.</p><p>12. Follows established channels of authority and communications throughout the organization.</p><p>13. Assumes role of the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist in Charge during temporary absences and/or vacancies as appropriate.</p><p>14. Performs related special tasks or projects as requested.</p><p>15. Ensures compounding, clean room and anteroom activities adhere to all state and federal regulations, USP &lt;797&gt; standards and company policies and procedures by pharmacy staff.</p><p>16. Ensures documentation is completed on QA/QC records and compounding documents.</p><p>17.
