The role involves coordination with foreign suppliers, vehicle primes, and US military customers, and collaboration across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management. Responsibilities include system and subsystem architecture development, requirements and interface definition, verification planning, and support for vehicle integration, qualification testing, troubleshooting, reliability and safety analyses, logistics, training, and customer documentation. Domestic and international travel is required.\n<h2>Impact of the Role</h2>\n<h3>General Profile</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines </li>\n <li>Solves complex problems </li>\n <li>Works independently, receives minimal guidance</li>\n <li>May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives </li>\n <li>Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience</li>\n <li>Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Essential Functions</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies. </li>\n <li>Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems. </li>\n <li>Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects. </li>\n <li>Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects. </li>\n <li>Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment. </li>\n <ul>\n  <h2>Additional Responsibilities</h2>Leads full product lifecycle, from requirements and design to integration, verification, and support;creates and manages and validates requirement databases, verification methods, and traceability; plans and executes system integration and verification programs; develops system architecture and monitors performance; supports safety, reliability, logistics, and documentation; prepares technical materials; identifies design issues and performs FMEA.\n  <h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n  <ul>\n   <li><strong>Required education and experience:</strong> Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience</li>\n   <li><strong>Discipline/Major:</strong> Engineering degree required</li>\n   <li><strong>Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills:</strong> Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)</li>\n  </ul>\n  <h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n  <p><strong>Preferred education and experience:</strong> Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or other closely related field</p>\n  <ul>\n   <li><strong>Knowledge, skills & abilities:</strong> Oral and written communication skills. Critical thinking skills. Problem solving skills. Mathematic skills. Computer skills. Technical expertise.</li>\n   <li><strong>Key Qualifications:</strong>\n    <ul>\n     <li>Experience in full lifecycle technology development in the Aerospace or Defense industry</li>\n     <li>Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML tools such as Cameo for modeling of system and subsystem architectures</li>\n     <li>Experience in a technical leadership role, engaging directly with customers, and mentoring engineer</li>\n     <li>Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance is required; an existing clearance is strongly preferred</li>\n    </ul></li>\n  </ul>\n  <h2>Physical Requirements</h2>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.</li>\n   <li>Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.</li>\n   <li>Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.</li>\n  </ul>\n  <h2>Travel Requirements</h2>25-50% travel likely.\n  <h2>Pay Range (USD)</h2>$90,763.00 - $122,797.00\n  <h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
