The Doctoral Programs Team is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Coordinator of Doctoral Programs to play a key role in supporting online doctoral students within the College of Business. This role will provide leadership to support online doctoral students throughout the doctoral process. This position is uniquely designed to offer administrative and student support oversight roles that impact retention, quality, and student success. The Coordinator of Doctoral Programs will serve as a critical contributor to the program through planning, organizing, and coordinating graduate academic support activities to promote academic standards, student engagement, and student mentoring from enrollment to graduation. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Leads doctoral student success efforts that includes academic advising, retention, and/or academic program functions to ensure the needs of students are met for successful completion of the program of study. Works closely and collaboratively with the to implement policies and practices in support of the program, college, and university goals. Provides academic advising and interacts with students regularly to ensure academic success and responds to student questions and concerns; works with students to resolve all issues to ensure ongoing satisfaction with the program and successful progress to completion. Monitors student academic progress and program effectiveness through a variety of reporting tools and coordinates academic success program development and implementation. Acts as department liaison to current and prospective students on issues related to academic success; in consultation with the Director of Doctoral Programs works closely with the director of admissions to ensure a seamless transition throughout enrollment, onboarding, and acclimation. Works collaboratively and collegially with academic units and services throughout the university to facilitate comprehensive student support. Utilizes various university data and programmatic direction to facilitate ongoing programs and initiatives to enhance student engagement, productivity, and success. Collaborates with faculty to plan and implement Ph.D. Immersion and DBA Residency specifically those duties involving student registration, engagement, program coordination, and evaluation. In working with doctoral students, emphasizes best practices using a proactive and innovative approach which results in demonstrated outcomes in retention, graduation, and academic planning Works to develop and streamline processes for continued quality and efficiencies; works closely with the Online operations to coordinate course effectiveness and for continued efficiencies. Works with PhD candidates for Dissertation defense preparation and the processes surrounding this, including the post-dissertation process to ProQuest to graduation. Works in support of the Director of Doctoral Programs communicating with faculty, campus stakeholders involved with graduate students, and others involved with the graduate process. Other duties include supporting annual academic review, final grade monitoring, transfer credit review, student onboarding, orientation, graduation processes, graduate surveys, exit interviews, and alumni correspondence. Works and collaborates with the College of Business Administration and on administrative tasks needed in support of the Doctoral Programs. Completes other duties relevant to the position, as assigned by the Director of Doctoral Programs. Qualifications Completion of a bachelor’s degree in business, counseling, education, or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university is required Master’s degree in business, counseling, higher education, or student affairs preferred Knowledge of curriculum and online course delivery Demonstrated ability to work with a team Ability to interpret student needs and determine when referral to other University resources is needed and appropriate Ability in demonstrating sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population Ability to demonstrate graduate-level communication skills, both written and verbally, preferred Possess a working knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management systems. Demonstrated student service orientation Computer Skills: Word & Excel: Advanced Access & Outlook: Intermediate PowerPoint: Advanced Database/ERP: Intermediate Infomaker: Intermediate Canvas/LMS Intermediate Experience Experience working with online graduate students and adult learners preferred Demonstrated experience in working with students in advising, mentoring, or teaching capacities Experience in assessment and completion of appropriate documents and reports Experience in planning events or campus residency programs preferred Experience with international students through advising, enrollment, or student services preferred Experience in coordinating and prioritizing work and activities of self and others and working effectively in an environment subject to quickly changing priorities Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers, faculty, students, administration, and other interested parties Experience in rapidly adapting and effectively utilizing new technology, practices, policies, and methods and using internet-based research tools and Microsoft Office computer applications. Experience in designing presentation materials and giving oral presentations in group settings. Working Conditions Work is typically performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
