Description Location - This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton. Reporting to the Operations Lead of the University Health Centre (UHC), the Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for providing OT-related services to the student population at the University of Alberta (UofA). Services include; student OT assessments and consultations, training and supervision of OT practicum students, the provision of OT workshops and other outreach programming; collaboration within a multi-unit, interdisciplinary team; and ad-hoc consultations on OT health topics with students and student groups, university faculty and staff, and UofA administration and leadership. Additionally, the OT facilitates program development and evaluation. Responsibilities Provides direct Occupational Therapy services to University of Alberta Students. Maintains collaborative campus and community partnerships to support current UofA strategic priorities (Student Experience Action Plan, Access Community and Belonging, Mental Health Action Plan). Consultative support for implementation of medical and other legally protected grounds accommodations for students. Facilitate post-secondary transition and academic and campus life participation. Supports Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (FRM) Occupational Therapy Student Opportunities. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited university occupational therapy program with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Required to be registered in the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). Maintains familiarity and compliance with Alberta College of Occupational Therapists standards of practice and recommended best practices. Ability to administer comprehensive OT assessments and clinical interventions as required. Demonstrated formal and/or informal training in critical disability studies, disability-affirming knowledge and trauma-informed approaches. Experience engaging with a wide range of impairment-specific communities, barriers, accommodations, access practices, and strengths (e.g. mobility, sensory, deaf, neurodivergent, learning disabilities, chronic illness, and mental health).
