When not needed to move trailers, the employee performs other duties as assigned.   </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Drives spotter truck to move trailers in and out of the building, around the staging areas and to the security station, observing all safety regulations. </li>\n <li>Performs inspection and miscellaneous service duties such as checking the oil, water, gasoline, and tire pressure daily. </li>\n <li>Reports any maintenance malfunctions. </li>\n <li>Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly. </li>\n <li>Observes all safety and security procedures. </li>\n <li>Performs other routine duties as necessary. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Employee must be able to drive safely and effectively on all staging area road and parking surfaces.     </li>\n <li>Employee must be able to operate effectively in reverse backing a trailer into the bay area (inside building) and into stage area parking.  </li>\n <li>Employee must be able to read trailer numbers and other documentation.  </li>\n <li>Employee must be able to perform and remember how to perform multiple tasks from day to day.  </li>\n <li>Employee must be able to perform the physical requirements listed in that section of this job description.  </li>\n <li>Employee must look for potential cost savings in the work process, help keep scrap and waste to a minimum and be efficient in use of all supplies. </li>\n <li>Time standard is dependent on the process being performed, customer specification, volume, and location. </li>\n <li>The employee must perform the assigned tasks in a way they meet or exceed the required production level.   </li>\n <li>The quantity of units moved will vary with the process being performed, customer specification, volume, and location. </li>\n <li>Spotter truck driver must ensure trailers are moved and parked properly (allowing enough room) without being damaged. </li>\n <li>Spotter truck driver must ensure trailers are parked in a safe manner for use by other employees.  </li>\n <li>Must be able to perform work with little supervision. </li>\n <li>May be asked to assist in the training of new employees. </li>\n <li>GED or high school diploma is preferred.</li>\n <li>Truck, jockey, spotter, shag truck training or experience is required.</li>\n <li>At least one year of yard jockey experience (or equivalent) is preferred.  </li>\n <li>A CDL (commercial driver's license) and at least one year of experience is required if road driving is necessary at the location. </li>\n <li>Driver’s license is required. </li>\n <li>CDL (commercial driver's license) is required if road driving is necessary at the location. </li>\n <li>Knowledge of the operating functions of the spotter truck including coupling, decoupling, maneuvering, and parking trailers. </li>\n <li>Ability to move and park trailers indoors, outdoors and on a variety of driving surfaces (asphalt, concrete and gravel roadways, and parking). </li>\n <li>Ability to read whole numbers and letters to determine the proper trailer to be moved. </li>\n <li>Aptitude to learn and retain new information.   </li>\n <li>Ability to follow instructions, given either verbally or in writing. </li>\n <li>Must pass driving test. </li>\n</ul>  \n<p><strong> PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:     </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Office and plant environment.  </li>\n <li>Keyboarding, lifting, standing, bending, walking.  </li>\n <li>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  </li>\n <li>Ability to stand and move about on concrete 8-12 hours a day.
