PMA has immediate openings for a full-time multi-year position of Assistant Project Manager/Assistant Owner’s Project Manager to support major building rehabilitation, sustainability, and/or new construction projects in the Central Massachusetts area.  The successful candidate(s) will work closely with the existing PMA OPM team and be physically located on-site. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects through all phases in a project life cycle, from inception to close-out. Additional Requirements Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen. Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form. Organizational Responsibilities Solicitation of Request for Qualifications (RFQs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs) for both Design Consultants and General Contractors, Prepare, coordinate, and review consultant and/or General Contractor RFQs/RFPs, Assist in coordinating and securing all necessary internal and external project approvals, Provide technical and professional assistance in ranking and evaluating proposals, Drive the contract and fee negotiation process for A/Es or GCs, Work in conjunction with the consultants during the design phase to ensure adherence to scope, budget, and schedule Manages the consultant, contractor, and engineering services during the construction phase Manages the various key stakeholders and project participants through construction and project completion Coordinate and communicate with the project stakeholders Provides supervision and technical guidance to assistant project managers, engineers, resident engineers and support staff on assigned projects Responsible for the project schedule and project budget, in tandem, through all phases of the project’s life cycle Position Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field required. 2+ years of related experience working as part of a project team. Experience in project design and construction elements strongly preferred. Availability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, as necessary, required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and understand plans and specifications, are required. An exceptional ability to remain organized and handle multiple action items simultaneously is required. Proficiency in using MS Excel and managing MS SharePoint. Proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams required. Working knowledge of PMWeb or Procore preferred Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar software preferred. Ability to pass a security background check required Experience and working knowledge of the Massachusetts public bidding process and public bidding laws preferred (i.e. MGL Ch. 25A, 149, 149A)
