    "description_html": "<p><strong>Job Purpose:</strong></p><p>The OR Circulating Registered Nurse monitors the procedures in the operating room during surgery and assists as an intermediary between the physicians and operating room staff members.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>· Prepares patients for surgical procedures and handles the preparation for the operating room before the surgery</p><p>· Works side by side with scrub nurses and directly with the surgeon to help maintain the sterile field in the operating room</p><p>· Assesses the patient’s condition and address their needs before and during surgery</p><p>· Works with physicians and anesthesiologists to develop a care plan for the patient during surgery</p><p>· Ensures all sterile fields are not compromised during the procedure by keeping the surgical area clean and organized</p><p>· Removes instruments and sponges as they are used during the procedure</p><p>· Ensures patient safety during the procedure</p><p>· Keeps precise documentation throughout the procedure</p><p>· Dispenses supplies and medication as needed</p><p>· Handles specimens and special apparatus</p><p>· Adheres to all Round Rock Surgery Center policies and procedures</p><p>· Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor</p><p>· Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</strong></p><p>· Knowledge and experience in PACU nursing or critical care</p><p>· Knowledge and experience in ASC, operating room or ASC nursing care</p><p>· Competence in assessing, treating and caring for patients based on age-specific needs</p><p>· Ability to set priorities and provide direction to others that promotes efficiency on the unit</p><p>· Ability to correlate clinical data with patient’s medical and nursing care</p><p>· Effective communication and positive interpersonal skills</p><p>· Ability to maintain patient confidentiality</p><p>· Ability to transcribe physicians orders accurately and read labels and instructions completely</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Supervision:</strong></p><p>Reports directly to the Director of Nursing and Administrator</p>",
