Description
ABOUT GENERATION
At Generation , we believe in the power of employment to change lives. We are a global nonprofit organization that supports adults to achieve economic mobility through employment. Generation trains and places adult learners of all ages into careers that are otherwise inaccessible, working in partnership with governments, employers, and other system actors. We also conduct original research and share data insights on high priority global workforce transition topics to inform decision-making by workforce system stakeholders. Launched in 2015, Generation comprises a global hub (Generation You Employed, or GYE) and a network of in-country affiliates. To date, the network has 100,000+ graduates and 11,000+ employers across 46 professions and 17 countries.
When learners join Generation, 91% are unemployed, of which nearly half are long-term unemployed. Three months after completing our program, graduates have a 78% job placement rate, rising to 88% within six months. Of our employed graduates, 68% are hired by repeat employers who have previously hired Generation graduates, and 89% are in jobs directly related to the profession for which we have trained them. Employed graduates immediately earn an average of 3-4 X their previous earnings. Two to five years after graduation, 77% of our alumni from upper-middle income countries continue to meet their daily financial needs and 63% can save for the future. To date, Generation’s global graduates have earned more than $1 billion in wages. Generation graduates typically have a secondary school background, 54% are female, 34% have dependents, and the majority identify with underrepresented communities in their country.
JOB OBJECTIVES
The Multi-country Programme Manager (PM) is accountable for coordinating and scaling Generation's delivery across multiple satellite markets in West and East Africa, with an initial focus on Nigeria, Kenya, and Ethiopia. The role owns multi-country programme design, in-country program coordination and cross-border operational problem-solving. The PM ensures Generation's methodology is delivered consistently across diverse markets while navigating the operational complexities of remote learner mobilization, localized infrastructure support, and distributed job placement pipelines.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who thrives on solving coordination challenges at scale, managing remote teams, and building systems that work across multiple countries simultaneously.

This includes overseeing local partnership development, Training Service Partner (TSP) relationship management, safeguarding compliance, and in-country Generation representation.
Develop and manage the multi-country programme calendar, balancing cohort launches across multiple geographies with shared functional resources (instructors, learner engagement, employer engagement).
Coordinate with the Head of Programs/Program Director to draw on functional resources from the Generation Direct Delivery team including instructors, learner engagement staff, and career coaches, on an as-needed basis for multi-country cohorts.
Design and refine the multi-country operating model based on lessons learned, testing approaches to address key bottlenecks including dispersed mobilisation, developing local partnerships, localised infrastructure support, cross-border payments, and harmonised data systems.

3. Cross-border Operational Problem-Solving
Navigate and resolve operational challenges unique to multi-country delivery, including cross border learner stipend payments, compliance with local labour and safeguarding regulations, device and connectivity support for remote learners, and harmonized data tracking across Salesforce and other Generation systems.
Liaise with Global Finance, Global HR, and the Digital team to implement scalable solutions for cross-border payments and multi-country safeguarding protocols.
Develop contingency plans for country-specific risks including political instability, regulatory shifts, currency volatility, and partner non-performance.
4. Strategic Partnership Development
Support in the design of partnership and market entry and scale up strategy of multi-country program delivery in line with overall Generation Direct delivery strategy including partnerships, mobilization, learner engagement, and learner support.
Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships in satellite markets to support multi-country programme delivery, including local hubs, Training Service Providers, connectivity providers, mobilization partners, grassroot and community-led organisations, government institutions, relevant industry/sector bodies and employer partners.
