    "description": "<h2>Position Overview</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Department:</strong>  Emergency Department</li>\n <li><strong>Schedule:</strong> PRN- Rotating</li>\n <li><strong>Work Location:</strong> UAB St. Vincent's East - Trussville, Al. </li>\n <li><strong>Benefits for eligible positions only include:</strong> generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Do</h2>\n<p>Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care and evaluation of patients.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.</li>\n <li>Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.</li>\n <li>Provide population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.</li>\n <li>Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Need</h2>\n<p>Licensure / Certification / Registration:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.</li>\n <li>Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.</li>\n <li>Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor preferred.</li>\n <li>A driver's license valid in the State of Alabama may be required based on departmental need.</li>\n <li>Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Education:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Preferences</h2>\n<p>No additional preferences.</p>\n<h2>About UAB St. Vincent’s</h2>\n<p>UAB St. Vincent’s, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
