    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Under the direction of the Activity Coordinator and program Chief conducts activities for patients.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center and its employees.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams, consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center (a) Safety and Security Policies, (b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting, (c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and (d) Patient and Customer Service.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Runs effective Activity Therapy groups.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Is therapeutic one-to-one contacts with patient.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Transmits information in a clear and timely manner to the charts.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Maintains a current and varied knowledge base on therapeutic techniques.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Assists in organizing and maintaining equipment and supplies.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Regularly communicates effectively with the multi-disciplinary team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Utilizes supervisory and peer feedback to improve work performance.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Supervises students when assigned.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>- MA degree in a mental field related to Occupational, Recreational, Creative Arts and/or Vocational Rehabilitation with/or eligible for certification, registration and/or license.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist (C.T.R.S.)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Master’s in Recreational Therapy</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Computer literacy</p>",
