At Barnard, we build the riskiest, most difficult, complex jobs we can find and we hire people who thrive on tough work and demanding opportunities.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Must possess competence in the following areas in order to perform this role in a safe, productive and effective manner:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Interprets drawings, sketches, plans and determines best work procedures, tools, equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems</li>\n <li>Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations </li>\n <li>Installs control and distribution apparatus’ and fastens in place </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Test and start up systems and continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components</li>\n <li>Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement </li>\n <li>May be required to pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to fixtures and power equipment </li>\n <li>Work with medium and low voltage systems</li>\n <li>Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems </li>\n <li>Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools, power, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical tools</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen</li>\n <li>Must be able to pass pre-employment criminal background screen</li>\n <li>Must possess current State of Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician License</li>\n <li>Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 25 pounds</li>\n <li>Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl</li>\n <li>Ability to correctly rig and hoist material</li>\n <li>Ability to tolerate heights without fear</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain balance</li>\n <li>Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet)</li>\n <li>Able to work long, irregular and varied hours, 50 to 70 hours per week</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.</li>\n <li>Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal , state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans/Disabled, E-Verify Employer</em></p>",
